All West Jefferson students have a summer reading assignment. English I and II students have
two books to read. English III, English IV, and Advanced Placement Literature students have

Attention Parents and Students:
West Jeff is participating in a Safe and Supportive Schools Initiative Survey through the Louisiana State Department of Education. The survey will allow schools to measure conditions for learning to improve our students' high school’s environment. Parents and students are all invited to take the survey. All respondents will remain anonymous. The results of this survey will allow us to develop and implement programs that will help improve student behavior/discipline issues, academic achievement, school safety, and graduation rates. 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year!
Ms. Marley began her career at West Jefferson High School as a Professional Development Resource Teacher in 2008. She is a highly qualified educator with more than 14 cumulative years of experience in the areas of English and Language Arts.
Welcome Orion Prater, our new Parent Liaison
Please welcome our new Parent Liaison, Orion Prater. She is located in the main office just outside of Mrs. Brown-Lewis’s office. Her goals are to assist parents with school related issues such as Parent Portal, social networking, parent complaints, organizing family and community events and making personal contacts with all of our stakeholders. She has created a Facebook page that is updated daily with news, events, and important messages.

2012-2013 Student of the Year - Javier Anderson

It is with great pleasure and excitement that West Jeff High School announces Javier Anderson as our 2012-2013 student of the year. Javier Trejon Anderson is an honor graduating senior, ranked 2nd in his class. He has enrolled in honors and advanced placement classes during his high school career. He has actively participated in many community service projects through his church as well as clubs and organizations at school. He has served as Class President of his 9th, 10th and 11th grade classes and presently holds the position of Student Council Vice President. He is a member of the Key Club and National Honor Society. He is also a Sports Flash News Caster and works as an office worker in the WJ office. He has received numerous honors and awards. Congratulations Javier!
