Announcements Thursday March 1, 2012
- All Seniors, move out day will be on May 11th if you would like to be a part of our "From Rugrats to All Grown Up" memory picture slideshow, please bring in a baby picture of yourself as well as a recent picture to Ms. Mitchell in RM 203A. Please make them appropriate. Last day to bring them in will be March 2nd.
- "Senior Budget money can be paid to Ms. Chomsky in room 123. Seniors, if you don't want to lose any of your senior activities or events, you must bring in your money. Pay as soon as can you can.
- Seniors, senior budget flyers are located by Ms. Mitchell's classroom, rm 203A. Please go by her classroom and take one flyer home if you haven't done so. If you have any questions please see Ms. Mitchell in Rm 203A or Ms. Chomsky in Rm 123.
- All student council members please turn in a copy of your interims to Ms. Chomsky in Rm 123.
- Seniors, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and sweatpants are in room 203A during first period and lunch. Please see Ms. Mitchell during first period with a pass or during lunch to pick up your orders. Items will only be distributed during first period and lunch.
- Juniors of 2011-12 who plan to graduate in May of 2012 must remember to file their FAFSA. If you have any questions about this process, please see your 11th grade counselor, Ms. Schrieffer. You may also check the junior bulletin board in the guidance suite for more FAFSA information.
- Reminder to all juniors to register for the ACT. Please see your counselor with any questions and possible fee waivers.
- "Attention Students: West Jeff student council presents ""Lucky in Love"" Winter Formal 2012. Join us as we celebrate a night of fun and music as we bid farewell to winter and hello to spring! The dance will be held at La Maison Creole from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm on March 17th. Tickets will be $15 presale and $20 at the door.
Dance attire for men: dress shoes, slacks, tie and coat
Women: Floor length dress, no low or side cuts, any split must be knee or lower.
No tennis shoes allowed.
Dress violations will be turned away at the door."
- Sale of Junior Sweatshirts has been extended to March 1, 2012 because Ms. Marley was unavailable last week due illness in her family.
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday is Concert Band Practice, and Tuesday and Thursday is Jazz Band Practice every week until school ends. Anyone interested in playing bass guitar and piano/keyboards in the Jazz Ensemble please see the Director of Bands Frank Lewis in the Band room, # 505 at lunchtime.
- "The Community Service Hours Program is a voluntary program of the Jefferson Parish Public School System. A minimum of 70 community service hours is required for recognition at graduation and on the student’s diploma. The 70 hours must be completed by April of the student’s senior year. Community service hours are recorded on the student’s report card every nine-weeks and can meet requirements for graduation recognition and other needs requested by universities and other institutions. Please pick up and return Community Service Hours Forms from Ms. McGowan, in room 102, as soon as possible. All forms are due by April 13, 2012.
- Drama Club is looking for talent! Meetings will be held on Tuesday and Thursday in Ms. Marley's room during lunch. Audition will be held soon for those who are interested in performing in the play FAME. Please come out and see what it's about!
- The Pennies for Patients campaign is drawing to an end next week. Continue to bring in your spare change so that we can raise funds for lifesaving treatments and cures for blood cancer patients. West Jeff has an opportunity to be an impact on others. Remember the class that raises the most funds will be awarded a pizza party. All filled boxes should be turned in to Mrs. Carter in Room 220.
